Why Choose the Springfield Prodigy Comp Tritium?
Springfield designed the Prodigy to make the 2011 platform more accessible. A forged steel frame and slide, a crisp single-action trigger and the AOS optics-ready slide give you match-grade features at a practical price. This model adds its own touches: 5″ ss bull barrel, carbon steel frame, cerakote coyote brown.
With a 5″ barrel, this pistol has a long sight radius and extra weight up front, which makes it an excellent choice for USPSA and steel competition, long range sessions and home defense where concealment is not a concern.
The compensated barrel vents gas upward to keep the muzzle flat. Combined with the weight of a steel 2011 handgun, it lets you track your sights through recoil and put fast, accurate follow-up shots on target.
Because the slide is optics-ready, you can mount a red dot and gain a faster, more precise sight picture. Check the slide footprint before choosing an optic.
Who the Springfield Prodigy Comp Tritium Is For
This 2011 handgun suits shooters who want the feel of a 1911 with modern capacity: competitors moving up to a 2011 handgun, owners looking for a soft-shooting home defense pistol and collectors who appreciate fine Springfield Armory craftsmanship. Pairing Your Pistol With the Right Gear
To get the most from a new 2011 pistol, plan your setup before it arrives. Choose a holster molded for your exact model and barrel length, pick a red dot that matches the slide footprint if you plan to run an optic, and stock up on quality 9mm practice and defensive ammunition. Extra double-stack magazines make range sessions and competition stages far smoother, and a weapon light on the accessory rail is a smart addition for home defense.
