Why Choose the Springfield Prodigy Comp 5 Inch Coyote?
The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy brings double-stack capacity to the 1911 with a polymer grip module mounted to a forged steel frame. Its slide is cut for the Agency Optic System (AOS), so you can mount popular red dots low and solid. This model adds its own touches: 5″ barrel, coyote brown cerakote, optic ready.
With a 5″ barrel, this pistol has a long sight radius and extra weight up front, which makes it an excellent choice for USPSA and steel competition, long range sessions and home defense where concealment is not a concern.
The compensated barrel vents gas upward to keep the muzzle flat. Combined with the weight of a steel 2011 handgun, it lets you track your sights through recoil and put fast, accurate follow-up shots on target.
Because the slide is optics-ready, you can mount a red dot and gain a faster, more precise sight picture. Check the slide footprint before choosing an optic.
Who the Springfield Prodigy Comp 5 Inch Coyote Is For
This 2011 handgun suits shooters who want the feel of a 1911 with modern capacity: competitors moving up to a 2011 handgun, owners looking for a soft-shooting home defense pistol and collectors who appreciate fine Springfield Armory craftsmanship.
